Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones released since 2019 do. Two things matter: the model must support eSIM, and the phone must not be locked to a mobile carrier.
Dial *#06#. If the screen shows an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock should say “No SIM restrictions”. Android: try a SIM from another network, or ask your carrier.
Apple iPhone

iPhones sold in mainland China don’t support eSIM. iPhones sold in Hong Kong and Macao don’t either, except iPhone 12 mini, 13 mini, SE (2020 and 2022) and XS.

Most US and Korean models of the S20/S21 series don’t support eSIM; check your exact model.
Google Pixel

Pixel 3 bought in Australia, Taiwan or Japan, and Pixel 3/3 XL sold by US or Canadian carriers other than Sprint and Google Fi, don’t support eSIM.

This list is a guide; manufacturers and carriers sometimes sell versions of the same model without eSIM. If you’re not sure, ask us before you buy. An eSIM that hasn’t been installed can be refunded within 30 days.
